X-Ray Exam

The Safe Place to Get an X-Ray for Clinton Residents

X-rays are one of the most commonly used techniques for imaging inside the body. An X-ray allows the doctor to view inside your body without having to make an incision. If you are experiencing pain or discomfort, then you may want to get an X-ray. The last thing you want to do is wait. You may also want to get an X-ray to monitor the progression of a diagnosed disease or to check how well a prescribed treatment is working. There are many reasons you may need to get an X-ray, but whatever the case may be for you, come to our office and we will take care of you. We are proud to serve the entire Branford, Guilford,  Madison, Clinton, Westbrook, Old Saybrook, Essex, New London, Groton and Old Lyme, CT areas. Please call us if you have any questions.

The Basics: What is a diagnostic X-ray?

A diagnostic X-ray is when a small amount of electromagnetic radiation is used to reveal images inside the body. When the X-rays pass through the body, they will be blocked or absorbed by dense objects like your bones and let through by softer tissue like organs and muscles. The X-ray beam and film combine to produce images of various parts of the body to help identify healthy or abnormal conditions.

What X-ray services are offered in Clinton?

At Madison Radiology, P.C., we provide a variety of different X-ray services. We can take X-rays of the head, neck, chest, spine, abdomen, pelvis and extremities. We also provide fluoroscopic X-rays. For more information about all our X-ray services, please call our office.

Are X-rays safe for me?

X-rays are a natural form of radiation and risks are minimal. We use the latest technology in high-speed film and cassettes to help reduce your X-ray exposure. Women who might be pregnant or who are nursing should inform their doctor, who may wish to delay exposure to X-rays.

Who will be performing my X-rays?

Our X-ray technologists are nationally registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). They are also licensed in the state of Connecticut. Every 2 years they must complete 24 CME credits of continuing education in their field.

Can I get a copy of my X-rays?

Yes, after your X-rays are completed, we can put the images onto a CD for you to take home. We can also print films. These X-rays should be stored in a safe place that you will remember and can be brought to future appointments if needed by the doctor. This can help with any future diagnosis.
